Our Leadership
The Board of Directors of the Hotel & Restaurant Association of Bhutan provides strategic leadership and governance to ensure the organization fulfills its mission of representing and advancing the interests of the hospitality industry in Bhutan.
Our board members are elected by HRAB members and bring diverse experience from across the hospitality sector, representing hotels and restaurants from all regions of Bhutan.

Mr. Pema Tshering
Chairman
Mr. Pema Tshering has been serving as the Chairman of HRAB since 2020. With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, he has been instrumental in advocating for the interests of hotels and restaurants across Bhutan. Under his leadership, HRAB has strengthened its partnerships with government bodies and international organizations to promote sustainable tourism development.
He is also the Managing Director of one of Bhutan’s leading hotel chains and has been a pioneer in implementing eco-friendly practices in the hospitality sector.
Mr. Dorji Wangchuk
Vice Chairman
Over 20 years of experience in hotel management and tourism development. Passionate about promoting Bhutanese hospitality standards internationally.
Ms. Tshering Yangzom
General Secretary
Experienced administrator with expertise in organizational management and member relations. Oversees day-to-day operations of HRAB.
Mr. Kinley Dorji
Treasurer
Financial expert with background in hospitality accounting. Ensures transparent financial management of the association.

Mr. Sonam Phuntsho
Board Member - Paro Region
Represents hotels and restaurants in the Paro valley. Owner of a heritage property near Paro Dzong.
Ms. Dechen Wangmo
Board Member - Punakha Region
Advocate for women entrepreneurs in hospitality. Runs a successful boutique resort in Punakha.
Mr. Ugyen Tenzin
Board Member - Bumthang Region
Represents central and eastern Bhutan. Specializes in eco-tourism and cultural heritage experiences.
Mr. Tashi Namgyal
Board Member - Phuntsholing Region
Represents southern Bhutan's hospitality sector. Expert in cross-border tourism and business hotels.
Ms. Sangay Lhamo
Board Member - Restaurant Sector
Represents the restaurant industry. Renowned chef and owner of multiple dining establishments in Thimphu.
Mr. Karma Wangdi
Board Member - Wangdue Region
Represents Wangdue and surrounding areas. Focuses on adventure tourism and mid-range accommodations.
